Brasserie Gabriel

A very nice restaurant overlooking the old cathedral in downtown Lyon. They have both seating inside and outside and best to sit outside during summer time. The restaurant was quite full and you definitely need a reservation or need to wait. The food and service was very good. They have a nice choice of dishes between chicken duck, fish and vegetarian and overall all quite good. The waiters were quite friendly and very fast. Definitely a good place to try.

リヨン観光のランチにガイドの方と訪問。 川カマスのクネルにオマール海老のソースを添えたリヨン料理が大好きなのですが、東京ではまず食べられません。なのでメニューにあって評判の良いこちらに決めました。 オードブルのシーザー・サラダのクルトンやベーコンも日本で食べるより美味しいと感じましたが、何といってもクネルの食感と甲殻類のソースの味わいは素晴らしかったです 付け合わせのライスも炊き方がうまくて丁度良いボリュームでした。 もう1人の日替わりメニューの方は白身魚のポワレで、こちらも良かったとのこと。 デザートのクレーム・ブリュレは少し甘めでしたが、美味しいランチの締めくくりにふさわしい味でしたし、雰囲気も良くてまた訪れたくなるレストランだと思いました。

Excellents plats (tartares de bœuf et de saumon), frites croustillantes et parts plus que généreuses. Même la mayonnaise était bonne. Un bel accueil ainsi qu'un service rapide et efficace. L'emplacement est super également, avec une vue imprenable sur la cathédrale. Je recommande vivement !

Quando una scelta casuale si rivela un'ottima scelta si è doppiamente felici. Questo ristorante con vista sulla cattedrale era molto bello e abbiamo mangiato stupendamente. La mia anatra era buonissima e anche l'hamburger preso dalla mia ragazza. Unico inconveniente l'invadenza dei piccioni che passano tra i tavoli più spesso dei camerieri. Cocktails meravigliosi Non capisco perché non si può avere un'acqua diversa dalla evian nei ristoranti francesi. Prezzi di 4/7€ per un litro d'acqua normalissimq sono eccessivi. Va bene un'acqua qualsiasi.

The restaurant is located in front of the Cathedral and the plaza. If you’d like to enjoy the bright sun along with the view and tasty food, this will be the place to enjoy. We took the suggestion from the waiter to try the daily menu: mignon steak. The steak was cooked to the perfection and sauce that came along added such a flavor that we really really enjoyed it. My daughter enjoyed the salad also. The restaurant seems to use the freshest ingredient with just the right balance of sauces to go with them. Overall, the service by the waiters were also great. Thank you for the experience!

Mooi terras gelegen aan de kathedraal. We hebben dit restaurant gekozen op basis van de reviews maar het stelde wel wat teleur. Redelijk lang moeten wachten op alles. Als we iets vroegen, kregen we telkens als antwoord ‘een minuut’. Kinderporties oké maar niets van groenten. Entrecote was saignant gevraagd maar eerder bleu chaud. Geen kruiding en een ijskoude bearnaisesaus (waarom is deze niet warm en vers?). Ook niets van groenten hierbij. Salade burrata was lekker maar eentonig. Ontzettend veel wespen helaas. Wel een heel mooi uitzicht.

In many places in Europe where a restaurant or cafe is next to the square of a popular Cathedral, it is often a tourist trap with underwhelming and overpriced food. Fortunately this is not one of them. The food was surprisingly delicious and pricing very reasonable. The set meal is really worthwhile and the portions are generous. It can get quite crowded during meal times and service tend to be spotty but still they try their best to still be cheerful and helpful. Recommended even for tourists!
