Hôtel Mercure Lyon Centre Château Perrache

My arrival at the hotel was very pleasant: the welcome from Chérinne and her colleague was warm, and the explanations provided about the facilities were clear. The room itself was clean and functional. The bed was comfortable, and the housekeeping staff were friendly. The restaurant was closed during the weekend, but the hotel’s location is excellent, right next to Brasserie Georges. I appreciated the eco-friendly concept of a refillable bottle with a water fountain in the corridor. However, after a long day of travel, I would have preferred to find a filled bottle of water available in the room. The absence of slippers made the stay less convenient: each time I wanted to refill my bottle, I had to put my outdoor shoes back on, which feels surprising for a 4-star hotel. Similarly, there was no bathrobe. Perhaps this depends on the room category, but again, it leaves an impression below the expected standard. Other details also seemed misaligned with the claimed 4-star standing. The ironing space, for example, was not at all up to par and looked rather run-down. When I asked for café recommendations nearby, the only answer I received was "Place Carnot," without any detailed suggestions or advice. The checkout process went smoothly. As someone used to staying in 4 and 5 star hotels in Asia and North America, I did not find the same level of service here. For the price, I do not consider the experience to meet 4 star expectations. This was my first stay at a Mercure in France, and likely the last. I was not unhappy, but I left disappointed and I don't think I would recommend this brand.

Lors de notre séjour dans cet hôtel, nous avons été ravis par l'expérience exceptionnelle qu'il nous a offerte. Notre chambre, parfaitement aménagée, était un véritable havre de paix. En accès privilège, elle disposait d'un confort inégalé :un lit spacieux et douillet, une décoration élégante, ainsi qu'un espace de détente très agréable. Les prestations proposées étaient à la hauteur de nos attentes, voir les surpassaient : service de chambre discret et efficace, équipements modernes, et une attention particulière portée aux détails pour rendre notre séjour agréable. Nous avons particulièrement apprécié la tranquillité de la chambre et la qualité du service, qui nous a rendu notre séjour mémorable. En résumé, une expérience de luxe et de confort que nous recommandons vivement.

J'ai effectué une réservation pour 2 nuits un mois avant, en précisant bien que je souhaitais une chambre avec baignoire. Le jour J, on m'indique à l'accueil que "malheureusement " il n'y a plus de chambre disponible avec baignoire. Je me pose la question de la façon dont est géré l'établissement. J'ai pu m'apercevoir que les clients fidèles étaient traités avec toutes les éloges dont souhaiterai bénéficier n'importe quel client. Je trouve cela fort dommage de favoriser une partie de la clientèle, au risque d'en penaliser une autre. Une chose est certaine, je ne deviendrai pas une cliente fidèle. Dommage, car la qualité des chambres est supérieure à la moyenne. Bonne continuation

Bel hôtel bien situé pour un accès rapide et à pieds au centre ville de Lyon. Personnel extrêmement sympathique et efficace. Merci au jeune homme du bar pour sa gentillesse. Chambre belle et confortable. Nous avions une vue sublime sur la basilique de Fourviere. J'ai malgré tout enlevé un point pour la façade du bâtiment qui mériterait vraiment une restauration minutieuse. Cela donne une impression étrange lorsque l'on arrive. On se demande même s'il s'agit du bon hôtel.... impression qui s'efface lorsque l'on rentre. L'intérieur est très beau. Restaurant très bon aussi. Bref, nous avons passé un très agréable séjour.

Sehr schöne Rezeption und Frühstücksraum. Unser Zimmer war gross, sauber und hatte ein wirklich himmlisch bequemes und grosses Bett und traumhafte Kissen (ich bin wirklich sehr anstrengend was Kissen angeht). Sehr leckeres Frühstück, zentrale Lage. Die Nähe zum Bahnhof war nicht störend. Die nette Dame an der Rezeption hat uns auch einen Parkplatz vermittelt, da wir keinen vorab reserviert hatten. Das hat prima geklappt. Insgesamt waren wir sehr zufrieden und würden auch wieder dort übernachten.

Mi dispiace dare una recensione bassa, ma quando siamo arrivati alla reception ci è stato detto di mettere la macchina in un garage vicino alla stazione a pagamento, senza ottenere uno sconto da parte dell'albergo ( sconto che invece è stato fatto nello stesso giorno a dei nostri amici che hanno pagato per una notte 11 euro) . Per non pagare la tariffa piena di 35 euro, abbiamo dovuto spostare l'auto alle 7 di mattina e abbiamo comunque pagato 25 euro. I servizi che offrite devono essere dati a tutti i clienti. Ho trovato tutto ciò molto scorretto.

Overall, the hotel is pleasant and very-well located. Walking distance pretty much to anywhere in the city. The room itself was fairly-sized and comfortable. On the second night I was woken up by leaking water. Turned out the air conditioner built up so much condensation that it started dripping heavily. The technician took care of that, however I was afraid of using the air conditioner for the remainder of the stay and this made it extremely uncomfortable. My biggest concern is the attitude of the staff - almost every time I came to the front desk, the staff were engaged in personal conversations and I was very hesitant asking for help because they would make me wait while just chatting with each other. Very poor hospitality. Furthermore, the restaurant staff also made me feel unwelcome and created an uncomfortable atmosphere when I was asking very legitimate questions about the menu. They acted like they couldn’t understand and that my questions were incomprehensible - that is after I made a big effort using both French and English. I know that the French aren’t known for their hospitality, but something must be seriously wrong with the attitude of the staff at a hotel when you, as a guest, are uncomfortable asking them for help. This is not free accommodations - I paid a lot of money for this. I hope the staff learn some manners and in the future treat their guests with greater respect.
